A peer review is when some competent person

  • checks through every part of the translation to ensure that the translation accurately reflects the meaning of the translated text.
  • checks that the translation is as far as possible consistent with the approach of the project as a whole. This means that the same translated term (e.g. item) occurring in the same context is translated by exactly the same translation word (e.g. 'again').
