apart from Aristotle, the logic texts mentioned were Edward Brerewood, Elementa logicae (1637), Franco Burgersdijk, Institutionum logicarum libri duo (1660), Phillipus Du Trieu, Manuductio ad logicam (1662), and Samuel Smith, Aditus ad logicam (1656). He mentions other books later which he used as a young man.
