In quid

In scholastic terminology, something is said to be predicated in quid when it is an appropriate reply to the question 'what is ...?'. For example, when we ask 'what is a man', the proper reply is 'an animal'. Therefore 'animal' is said to be predicated of man 'in quid'. Similarly for in quale, in quantum, in quot, in quando, in ubi. For example, we ask 'how many [quot] are these donkeys', and the reply that there are three (or four, and so on). Then 'being three' is predication in quot.
