BOZ contributions 3.71 First of all, I've started an assessment drive at the Marvel Comics work group page, to get some comics articles assessed. Some of these are major characters which have yet to be looked at!

Also, for not just Marvel Comics but all comics articles of importance, I started an improvements page for suggestions on how to work on getting articles up to GA and better."

Journalist contributions 3.91 My name is Orane, and I go by the name of Journalist on Wikipedia. No, I'm not a journalist in real life; I'm still a student pursuing my undergrad. In my spare time, I like to write. I've never been successful at writing fiction. Rather, I'm more on the critical side of things: essays, commentaries, music/movie reviews. Although my level of contribution has decreased throughout the years, I still pop in periodically to do some housekeeping. I've been an Administrator for over 6 years, as well as an Edit filter manager (see user rights) and Mediator emeritus (since 2006). Feel free to contact me with any issue and I'll do my best to help out.

CT Cooper contributions 4.02 Hello, I am Christopher T Cooper (CT Cooper), an editor and administrator of the English Wikipedia. My main interests are in architecture, the natural environment, aviation, computers, video games, photography, and travelling the world, with this often reflected in the contributions I make to Wikipedia and its sister project Wikimedia Commons. I completed my GCSEs at secondary school in June 2007, and my A-levels at sixth form college by June 2009 through studying geography, environmental science, biology, and history. I began university in October 2009 by continuing to study Environmental Science to achieve a Bachelor of Science (BSc) qualification by June 2012, and a Master of Environmental Science (MEnvSci) qualification by June 2013. In employment, I have briefly worked for both East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) and the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA).

Buckshot06 contributions 4.08 The key turning point was the increase in emphasis on WP:VERIFY. It unquestionably improved the quality of the encyclopedia, but it just as unquestionably changed us from a large community of online users sharing everything they know to a much smaller community of scholars willing to put in a significant amount of effort researching and documenting their use of reliable sources. That was a good thing for producing a more informative and trustworthy reference work, but it was effectively the end of ""the encyclopedia everyone can edit"", since most people simply can't or won't make the effort to do the kind of research required to make significant edits when every such edit requires an inline citation to a reliable published source. That combined with the exhaustion of many of the easiest topics has inevitably lead to the community shrinking. --User:Rusty Cashman, [1]

Sabine's Sunbird contributions 4.09 I'm a trans-national bum who is currently doing a PhD on island birds in Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. I'm not sure how much time this will leave me for Wikipedia, but I've been away too long and the articles are calling me strongly now. My major kick at the moment is improving the standard of bird family articles. Quite frankly most of them are a disgrace. I also randomly attach myself to subjects I feel are under-represented on Wikipedia.

Catfish Jim and the soapdish contributions 4.62 I've been editing Wikipedia since October 2007. After a couple of years concentrating entirely on content creation and editing, I found myself increasingly involved in countering vandalism and in areas such as New pages patrol and Articles for deletion. I was promoted to Administrator in May 2011.My focus continues to be on content editing, but am spending a fair amount of time on admin duties, particularly on requests for speedy deletion. I'm still learning the tools, so if you think I've done something wrong, please tell me on my talk page.

Colds7ream contributions 4.84 I'm an administrator on the English Wikipedia, a member of Wikimedia UK and an active member of Wikiproject Spaceflight contributing to spacecraft and mission pages on a regular basis. I recently completed a three-year effort to promote International Space Station to Featured Article status, and cleared a FARC of Shuttle-Mir Programme, the other of my Featured Articles. I'm currently working on various other space station-related articles, particularly Mir and Commons images related to it. Outside of article space, I created the Human spaceflight portal and helped merge it into the Spaceflight Portal. I also used to do some work with account requests, deletion discussions and new page patrolling.

Rockpocket contributions 5.06 Hello, I'm Darren Logan, better known around these parts as Rockpocket. I'm an administrator on Wikipedia and a member of faculty at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. My professional interest is in the genetics of olfaction, specifically understanding pheromones and how they mediate instinctive behaviours. You can read more about my lab's research here. I contribute to articles in this area occasionally (see, for example, Major urinary proteins) but tend to edit across diverse range of subjects that I have a non-professional interest in. I was editing Wikipedia intensively between December 2005 and July 2008. Due to other demands on my time I contribute less frequently now, but I am still active and can still be reached by email or on my talk page. I believe that academics and other professionals should embrace Wikipedia and contribute their expertize. With some Wikipedian colleagues, I've written a guide to get scientific experts editing Wikipedia: Ten Simple Rules for Editing Wikipedia, was published in the September 2010 issue of PLoS Computational Biology.

Jmabel contributions 5.11 I think in some ways Wikipedia is now taking itself too seriously. Frivolous but amusing articles that have broad authorial participation and are decently cited are deleted; deadly dull and/or poorly written articles on equally frivolous topics are kept. The precipitating incident for my reduction in involvement was the discussion of "List of songs containing covert references to real musicians"; the discussion can be seen at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2007 April 15. Note in particular the appallingly uncollegial notion that my views are irrelevant because the "tribe"—in which 60,000 or so edits apparently do not gain me membership—"has spoken". For examples of articles that are both frivolous and dull, I will simply direct you to Category:Pokémon and invite you to look at any but the most major articles.
